Computer Room Cooling & Air Conditioning Solutions
Cooling Solutions for Data Centers, Computer Rooms, Server Rooms,
Server Racks and Telecom Sites
Computer room cooling is one of the most essential yet least understood of all environmental IT processes. As we make technological advances with computer equipment – equipment shrinks – yet uses the same or more electricity than the equipment it replaced – resulting in more heat generation in these critical environments.Electronic Environments understands the effects of computer room air conditioning and server rack cooling, and has mechanical experts in-house who can help identify your cooling needs and recommend the best computer room air conditioning (CRAC) system for your facility. Most computer room heat load conditions are different, EEC can design and install a variety of computer room air conditioning configurations.
The climate control support services we offer on a nationwide basis include:
- Preventive maintenance contracts
- 24×7 emergency services
- Design & Installation services
- Refurbished Liebert AC Units
- Energy efficiency cooling solutions
- Data Center cooling assessments
- Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) 3-D modeling
- Start up acceptance testing
- Portable air conditioner rentals
We also offer support services for server room cooling equipment including:
- Process cooling
- Humidity control systems
- Cooling towers
- Centralized pump stations
- Chillers
There are a variety of air conditioning systems available today that are designed for data center and computer room applications, from in-row cooling, and CRACs to high density cooling and containments systems. At EEC we offer our complete range of services on all the major manufacturer server room cooling systems including: Liebert, Carrier, Sun, Bard, Crispair, Marvair, Stulz, and many others.
“Office” air conditioning systems are not designed to provide the precision or the reliability necessary to maintain the stringent requirements of a computer or telecom room. A precision computer room cooling control system provides this year-round control of temperature, humidity and air cleanliness, within the narrow tolerances specified by computer manufacturers. Many elements must be considered when purchasing and installing computer room air conditioners; power requirements (today and future), sever room air flow, humidification, filtration, size, and location.
ASHRAE data center temperature and humidity recommendations:
The American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) is an international technical society organization and a leading authority providing recommendations for data center cooling and humidity ranges. ASHRAE TC 9.9 recently released their “2011 ASHRAE Environmental Guidelines for Datacom Equipment” which expanded their recommended environmental envelope as follows:
Temperature: 18°C (64.4°F) to 27°C (80.6°F)
Humidity: 5.5°C DP (41.9°F) to 60% RH & 15°C DP (59°F DP)
